VCM Construction Ltd. is a privately owned company established in 1996, with our corporate office located in Saskatoon. We offer general contracting, design-build, construction and project management serving the commercial, industrial, institutional and municipal markets in Saskatoon, across Saskatchewan and into Manitoba and Alberta. We employ a management team of 25, including five professional engineers, construction managers, estimators, construction coordinators, safety coordinators, quality control coordinators and project accountants. Our field crew resources vary seasonally between 80 and 150.
VCM has a corporate culture that you don’t necessarily see a lot in the construction industry. In order to “Construct Relationships and Build Trust” we need to start with our own people. We have a number of long term employees whose commitment to the work has enabled VCM to sustain growth. We cultivate a hard working, supportive, team-oriented atmosphere where focus is doing the job right, gaining efficiencies wherever possible and employing lessons learned from previous projects to ensure success on current and future ones. We have a number on repeat clients and believe that is a reflection of our approach to doing business.
We also have a corporate commitment to building the community we live in. We support a number of charitable organizations and fundraising efforts that reflect our commitment to the growth of Saskatoon. Yearly we devote a number of volunteer hours to the Habitat for Humanity organization in Saskatoon. We believe this provides our workers with the best opportunity to utilize their skills while giving back to the community.
In 2015 VCM announced our first Charity Playhouse Challenge in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. We sent out a challenge to all our workers to join in teams of 3 to construct a playhouse that were put on display at the Habitat Re-Store (122 Avenue D South) and auctioned off on Father’s Day weekend with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity!
